Neha Neelenkavil
California State University, Long Beach
Neha’s path has always been rooted in purpose. At Artesia High School, she was known for her reliability, empathy, and quiet leadership. Whether tutoring through AVID or helping organize school activities, she was someone teachers and peers could count on. She consistently took on more—not for recognition, but because she believed in showing up fully for the people around her.
As Vice President of the Environmental Club, Neha helped lead campus clean-up efforts and advocate for sustainability. Outside of school, she volunteered through her church and participated in youth leadership activities, all while maintaining strong grades in honors and AP courses. She took on these responsibilities with a calm determination, managing it all with a focus that impressed those around her.
Neha dreams of becoming a doctor not just to practice medicine, but to be a source of care and trust for her community. She’s drawn to medicine because of what it requires beyond science: listening, patience, and a commitment to serving others. That vision continues to shape her work today at Cal State Long Beach, where she’s laying the foundation for a future defined by service and impact.
