Esthela believes that meaningful service does not always require a grand gesture. Sometimes it means quietly helping a family access groceries, clothing, diapers, or other essentials during an uncertain time. This belief has shaped her approach to leadership and inspired her to create opportunities for others to serve alongside her.

At Artesia High School, Esthela founded the American Red Cross Club and grew it to more than 60 members. As president, she organized blood drives and donation campaigns that provided food and essential supplies to community members. She partnered with her club advisor and local organizations to deliver groceries to families who were afraid to leave their homes during periods of heightened immigration enforcement. Through these efforts, she showed her neighbors that they were supported and not alone.

Esthela has completed more than 100 hours of community service at animal shelters, donation centers, and other organizations. She has also served as a Path to Excellence mentor, participated in basketball, golf, and volleyball, and balanced her academic responsibilities with a part-time job. Her achievements include an Academic Achievement Award in AP Chemistry.

Esthela now studies aerospace engineering at California State University, Long Beach. She sees engineering as both a career and a responsibility to improve lives. She is especially interested in how technical innovation can help address global challenges, including access to clean water and other basic resources. Esthela hopes to combine her curiosity, compassion, and problem-solving skills to create solutions that help communities thrive.
